John Boda brings back “Popular Songs of Yesteryear” to the Timbers

Musician John Boda performs the "Popular Songs of Yesteryear" at the Timbers of Shorewood retirement community. Singer and guitarist John Boda will perform “Popular Songs of Yesteryear” at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

Boda is known for his upbeat style, soothing voice and masterful guitar playing. The seasoned vocalist has fine tuned the art of warm, personable entertainment over the course of his radio disc jockey career for more than 10 years.

R&B, jazz, rock, blues and country are all included in his musical repertoire, but Boda’s specialization lies in the Great American Songbook.

“I enjoy singing and playing songs from years gone by that bring my audience pleasant memories,” Boda said.

In addition to performing an average of 500 shows annually, Boda also teaches classes and offers lecture tours about topics of interest to seniors including science, history and theology.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are requested. For more information, call 815- 609-0669.
